Beef steak with watercress, rocket and baby spinach salad

I have to tell you that we really looooove beef J. We love the taste, the looks and the fact that our livers appear to be happier with it compared to pork..

So once a week we have beef, usually steak because it takes a couple of minutes to be ready, it’s tasty and it’s suitable for dinner, for some of us …concerned about their weight… 🙂

So this week’s beef steak was a mustard beef sirloin with a crunchy salad. Just look at it..

Ingredients:

2 beef sirloins – about 2 inches thick

2 tbsp mustard – a mix of English mustard and regular one (not so spicy)

Salt and pepper

Mixed leaf salad: watercress, rocket and baby spinach

Salad dressing – Brianna’s French vinaigrette

Method:

Mix together the mustards, salt and pepper to taste and rub it on each side of the sirloins. Let them sit for around 30 minutes to marinate.

Heat a skillet until is very hot and begins to smoke and add the sirloins. Fry them on each side for around 2,5 – 3 minutes – if you want them medium done; or less if you prefer them rare.

Put the salad in a bowl season with the salad dressing toss around so that the leaves will be coated in dressing. Cut the steak in thin slices put them on a plate next to some salad and serve.

The meat turned out to be very tender and tasty and the salad really refreshing.
